Biography

The Hon. Brandon S. Kinsey is a judge for the Yuma County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Doug Ducey on July 18, 2017, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Maria Elena Cruz to the Arizona Court of Appeals.

Prior to his appointment, Kinsey was a partner at Garcia, Kinsey & Villarreal, where he practiced civil litigation and business law. He represented individuals, large corporations, and government entities in a variety of civil, probate, estate planning, and administrative law matters.

Kinsey earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Brigham Young University in 2002. He then completed a J.D. at Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clarke Law School in 2006.

His memberships have included the Board of Directors of the Arizona Western College Foundation (president), the Yuma Community Food Bank, and Helping Hands of Yuma County.

Kinsey was raised in Yuma County, Arizona, where his father, a member of the United States Marine Corps, was stationed at MCAS Yuma. He and his wife, Jessica, have three children.
