Judge Roger B. Robbins: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Roger B. Robbins (Ret.) was a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was elected to the Municipal Court of Orange County on November 4, 1986. He was elevated to the Superior Court of Orange County on August 10, 1998, upon the majority vote of judges in the county to convert Municipal Courts to Superior Courts. Robbins retired in 2020.

Robbins attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a B.S. in public administration in 1965. He continued his studies at the University of Southern California, receiving an M.P.A. in public administration in 1969. He earned a J.D. from Western State University in 1974.

Robbins began his legal career in 1974. He worked as an attorney in his own private practice, handling both civil and criminal cases until 1976. He then joined the Office of the District Attorney of Riverside County as a deputy district attorney, where he specialized in child support, child abduction, and welfare fraud cases.

Before completing law school, Robbins worked for the Southern California Edison Company in Los Angeles, California from 1964 to 1968. He also worked as a certified tax appraiser for the Office of the Assessor of Orange County from 1970 to 1973.

He was born in Portland, Oregon. He is divorced with two sons. He is a Presbyterian, the former Deacon of Tustin Presbyterian Church.
