Biography

The Hon. Robert P. Dahlquist is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Gray Davis in 2003, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jesus Rodriguez.

Dahlquist earned a B.A. from Brigham Young University in 1979. He then received a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1982.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Dahlquist worked as a partner at Latham & Watkins, where he chaired the Environment, Land, and Resources Department. During his twenty-one year tenure there, he specialized in complex civil litigation, handling insurance and environmental cases.
