19 I, Lorenzo Lozano, declare as follows:
20 1. I am the Transferor with reference to the above-described Petition. I am 25 years old
21 and I am single. I reside in Kern County, California. I have personal knowledge of all facts stated in
22 this declaration, and if called as a witness, I could and would competently testify as follows:
23 2. This declaration is made in support of Petitioner's Petition for Approval for Transfer of
24 Structured Settlement Payment rights by and between me, Lorenzo Lozano, and J.G. Wentworth
25 Originations, LLC and/or its assigns, Pursuant to California Insurance Code § 10134, et seq.
26 3. I have agreed to sell a portion of my interest in a structured settlement to Petitioner.
27 Specifically, I have agreed to sell those certain annuity payments due and owing to me which are set
28 forth in the Purchase Agreement and which is incorporated into the Petition as Exhibit "A" thereto.

1 4. I believe it is in my best interest to enter into the transaction contemplated in the
2 Purchase Agreement as the original structured settlement entered into by me in 2022. The settlement
3 was intended as compensation for a wrongful death claim.
4 5. I am transferring 251 monthly payments of $875.00, commencing on 1/25/2024
5 through and including 11/25/2044. If approved, I will receive $70,000.00 from the transaction.
6 6. When the original settlement was completed, the future period payment(s) that are the
7 subject of the proposed transfer were not intended to pay for the future medical care and treatment
8 relating to the incident that was the subject of the settlement. The settlement was monetary in its
9 entirety.
10 7. When the original settlement was completed, the future periodic payments that are the
11 subject of the proposed transfer were solely monetary in nature and were not intended to provide for
12 necessary living expenses.
13 8. I am 25 years old. My address is: 9709 Laurel Park Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93312.

14 I have 3 minor children: L. L., who is 3 years old, O. L., who is 2 years old and J. L., who is 3 years
15 old. They reside in California. I am not married. I am currently unemployed. I also receive payments
16 of $2,460 per month my annuity. I do not have any court-ordered child support obligations.
17 9. I have not completed a previous transaction.
18 10. I have not attempted previous transactions involving my structured settlement payment
19 that were denied, dismissed or withdrawn prior to a decision on the merits, within the past five years.
20 11. I am currently experiencing a financial hardship. If approved, I will use the money
21 received from the proposed settlement to purchase a new home. Owning a home provides a sense of
22 stability and security. It is a long-term investment that not only serves as a place of residence but also
23 as a financial asset that can appreciate over time. The monthly mortgage payments on a home are often
24 comparable to or even lower than monthly rental costs. Additionally, homeownership may offer tax
25 benefits and equity buildup, contributing to long-term financial stability. purchasing a home allows
26 me to establish roots in a community. This commitment fosters a sense of belonging, contributing
27 positively to my overall well-being and mental health. The decision to purchase a home is also
28 influenced by the desire to provide a stable and comfortable environment for my family.

1 Homeownership offers a sense of permanence and a space to create lasting memories. Purchasing a
2 home allows me to enjoy a higher quality of life, with access to amenities, educational institutions,
3 and recreational facilities that contribute to an overall positive lifestyle.
4 12. I did not receive independent legal or financial advice regarding the proposed
5 transaction. A copy of the waiver is attached to Exhibit "E" of the petition.
6 13. I understand the terms of the transfer agreement, including the terms set forth in the
7 disclosure statement as well and do not wish to exercise my right to cancel the agreement.
