21         I, Joyce Whitaker, declare as follows:

22           1.      I am the significant other of Defendant Mitchell G. Black. I make this declaration in

23   support of Defendant Black’s post-trial motions.

24           2.      I am over the age of 18 and, except as otherwise stated, have personal knowledge of

25   the matters set forth herein and am competent to testify thereto if called upon as a witness.

26           3.      I am an attorney at law and have been for many years. I come from a family of

27   attorneys – my brother, sister and father are all attorneys, I am not a litigator and have not been

28   involved with a trial before other than as a juror 41 years ago. I believed in our judicial system, at
