Plaintiff YOEL SBERLO, TRUSTEE FOR SBERLO FAMILY TRUST’s motion
to compel further discovery responses to requests for admission, form interrogatories, and for
monetary sanctions came on for hearing on November 13, 2013, in Department 611 of the above-
entitled Court, the Honorable Lynn O'Malley-Taylor presiding. Karen Y. Uchiyama appeared as
attorney for Plaintiff YOEL SBERLO, TRUSTEE FOR SBERLO FAMILY TRUST. Mark
Hooshmand appeared as attorney for Defendant YARNG ALTAWAL.
After full consideration of the authorities submitted by counsel, as well as the
parties’ oral argument, the Court denies Plaintiff's motion to compel further responses to
requests for admission, and form interrogatories as moot because Defendant YARNG
ALTAWAL provided discovery responses after the filing of the instant motion.
Sanctions are granted against Defendant’s attorney Mark Hooshmand and
Defendant YARNG ALTAWAL in the amount of $ L 4 LLCO payable to the Law Office
of Karen Y. Uchiyama within 5 days of entry of this order.
