This case is on calendar for Defendant’s motion (1) to compel Plaintiff to file an acknowledgement of satisfaction of judgment that conforms with the one filed in the Washington State action; (2) for a protective order or order quashing Plaintiff’s application and order for appearance and examination of Defendant; and (3) for attorneys’ fees and monetary sanctions. Defendant brings the first motion pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure section 724.050(d) and on the grounds that the acknowledgement of satisfaction of judgment which Plaintiff filed in the Washington State action, which clearly and expressly released Defendant from all liability on the judgment, should have equal force and effect in this sister-state California enforcement action.
