Procedural Background

On July 6, 2018, Plaintiff Pat Roy (“Plaintiff”) filed the instant case against defendants Inglewood Unified School District (“School District”), Board of Education of the Inglewood Unified School District (“Board of Education”), and Debbie Tate (“Tate”) (collectively “Defendants”). Plaintiff alleges two causes of action against all Defendants (1) slander per se, and (2) intentional infliction of emotional distress.

On February 4, 2020, Defendants filed the instant motion for summary judgment or in the alternative summary adjudication. On July 6, 2020, Plaintiff filed her opposition. On July 10, 2020, Defendants filed their reply. On July 13, 2020, Plaintiff filed a sur-reply.
