TENTATIVE RULING:

(1) Defendant NuVasive, Inc.'s Motion to Compel Deposition of Alphatec Spine, Inc.'s Person Most Knowledgeable is GRANTED.

A party may obtain discovery regarding any matter so long as the requested information is reasonably calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence relevant to the subject matter of the action. (Cal. Civ. Proc. Code § 2017.010.) Information is "relevant to the subject matter" if it might reasonably assist a party in evaluating the case, preparing for trial, or facilitating settlement thereof. (Gonzalez v. Sup.Ct. (City of San Fernando) (1995) 33 Cal. App. 4th 1539, 1546.)

Alphatec has offered to make available for deposition a PMK on the topic numbers 1-5 and 9-11 requested by NuVasive. On August 21, 2018, Alphatec served objections to the notice of deposition as to the topic numbers 6-8. Topics 6-8 seek the following information:
