Biography

The Hon. Sara Kate Billingsley is a judge of the 446th District Court of Ector County. She was appointed to the bench seat in 2015 by Governor Rick Perry, upon the creation of the 446th District Court under the laws of Texas. She was re-elected to the seat in 2016.
Before pursuing a legal career, Billingsley graduated with a B.B.A. from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2002. She then went on to earn her J.D. in 2007 from the University of Oklahoma School of Law.
After earning her law degree, Billingsley worked as an attorney for Todd, Barron, Thomason & Hudman. Before taking the bench seat, she then went on to become a partner of the firm Billingsley Law Firm.
In addition to her services to the court she is the president and on the board of directors for Food2Kids, chairman of the Merchants for the Junior League of Odessa Merry Marketplace and the United Way of Odessa, and a member of the Texas Bar Foundation. She is also the former president and treasurer of the Ector County Bar Association.
Billingsley is a registered Republican.
