Judge Josann M. Reynolds - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Josann M. Reynolds is a judge for the Dane County Circuit Court of Wisconsin. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Scott Walker on September 19, 2014.

Prior to her appointment, Reynolds was an attorney at Sipsma, Hahn & Brophy, a general practice she joined in 2009. During her tenure there, she handled civil litigation, personal injury, family law, international custody disputes, employment issues, and administrative proceedings.

Reynolds earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1981.

After graduating from law school, Reynolds entered into private practice, working as an attorney at Jenswold, Studt, Hanson, Clark & Kaufman. She stayed with the firm until 1995. Then, in 1998, she became the owner and operator of HABA Great Barrier Reef Adventure.

Her memberships have included the American Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and the Dane County Bar Association. She has also been involved with the Hague Convention Attorney Network, the Dane County Family Law Clinic, and the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers.
