Judge Don Andrews - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Don Andrews is a district judge for the Oklahoma County District Court (District 7) in Oklahoma. He was elected to the position on November 4, 2014.

During his tenure as a district judge, Andrews has held an assignment in the Civil Court Division. His previous assignments included the Family/Domestic Relations docket, the Victims Protective Orders docket, and Mental Health Emergency Detention proceedings. He has also served as the Presiding Judge of the county's District Court.

Andrews began his judicial career as a special judge in Oklahoma County in 2011.

Prior to joining the bench, he was in private practice for over twenty-two years. During that time, he was a senior partner at Mulinix, Ogden, Hall, Andrews & Ludlam, PLLC (2001 to 2011); a sole practitioner in his own private practice (1994 to 2001); and an associate and of counsel at Shadid & Pipes (1990 to 1994). Andrews represented individuals and businesses in various proceedings, including general commercial and business litigation, debtor/creditor, replevin, landlord/tenant, foreclosure collections, bankruptcy, divorce, probate, estate planning, and personal injury.

He received a B.F.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1986. Andrews went on to complete a J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1989.

His memberships have included the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma Judges Association (past president). Andrews was also active with the Oklahoma County Bar Association, having served as vice-president, a member of the Board of Directors (2016 to 2018), and a founding member of its Lawyers Against Domestic Violence Sub-Committee.

His civic involvement included the Oklahoma County Law Library (Board of Trustees), Oklahoma Cleats for Kids (Board of Directors), the Downtown Exchange Club of Oklahoma City (past president), and the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Oklahoma City (president).

Andrews is a lifelong resident of Oklahoma County.
