Biography

The Hon. April J. Bristow is a judge for the Palm Beach County Court in Florida. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis on September 16, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Sandra Bosso-Pardo.

Prior to her appointment, Bristow served as general counsel to the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, a position to which she was named in 2019. In that capacity, she acted as legal advisor to the Chief Judge, the Trial Court Administrator, and the judicial officers of the circuit. Before that, she spent time as a law clerk to the Hon. Dorian Damoorgian of the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal (2012 to 2019).

Bristow earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida in 2006. She then completed a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 2009.

After graduating from law school, Bristow began her legal career as a law clerk at Skelton, Willis, Bennett & Wallace. She worked in that capacity until 2010, at which time she became an associate at Carlton Fields. During her tenure in private practice, Bristow specialized in construction law matters, representing contractors, developers, national homebuilders, subcontractors, owners, suppliers, and local governments in contract disputes, defective construction claims, delay claims, and lien and bond disputes.
