Judge Anne E. Minihan - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Anne E. Minihan is a judge for the Westchester County Court in the Ninth Judicial District of New York. Minihan began her judicial career as an acting village justice for the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Justice Court, a position to which she was elected in 2014. The following year, she was elected to serve on the Westchester County Court.

Minihan earned a B.A. from Pace University in 1989. She then continued her studies at Pace University School of Law, where she completed a J.D. in 1992.

After graduating from law school, Minihan joined the Office of the District Attorney in Westchester County as an assistant district attorney. She served in that capacity from 1992 to 1999.

Then, in 2006, Minihan moved to the New York State Unified Court System. She started as a principal court attorney for the Hon. Robert A. Spolzino of the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. Four years later, she became the principal court attorney for the Hon. J. Emmett Murphy of the Westchester County Supreme Court.

Minihan was raised in Ossining, New York. At that time of her election to the Westchester County Court, she had lived in Croton-on-Hudson for almost twenty years.

Her memberships have included the Westchester County Women’s Bar Association.

She is registered as a Democrat.
