The Hon. Andrew C. Kim is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2016 by former Governor Jerry Brown. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Leland B. Harris (Ret.).
Kim is a registered Democrat.
Judge Kim received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. He went on to earn his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Kim served as a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office from 1999 to 2016. Before joining the D.A.'s office, Kim was a contract attorney for the law firm of Jackson and Abdalah from 1998 to 1999.
He has also taught criminal trial practice as an adjunct professor at Western State College of Law.
