To: Clerk’s Office of Hampshire County
P.O. Box 1119

Docket #: 16CV11
Assigned Court Date: June 28, 2017, at 2 pm
Defendant:
Ronald D’Auteuil, dba OLDE TYME STUFFE, 54 Suffolk Street, Worchester MA
01070
Defendant’s attorney: Morris A. Bergman, 39 Highland Street, Worchester MA
On or about June 14, 2015, I was referred to Justin Goldberg - by the Hampshire
County Lawyer Referral Service - to represent me in recovering and receiving
payment for a truck load of (mostly) antiques from a large rented storage area.
At the beginning of our association, Goldberg was working at Miranda Law Firm.
He asked to continue my case when he left that firm - which was fairly soon
afterwards. I had spent time detailing information with Goldberg and at the time
of his leaving, felt it was to my benefit to continue staying with him.
Thad had a long and grueling experience with the above mentioned D’Auteuil and
had searched for a lawyer that was willing to understand the facts and continue
start to finish with the case. Goldberg was supplied with detailed written
information, emails, and facts and.calls I had made gathering information. He
seemed to understand and in fact did - I think - file some “papers.” But, all his
work seemed spotty and hit-and-miss to me.
Iemailed Goldberg about every couple of months and called him a
half-dozen times. These calls and email could have been answered in a sentence
or two but were either not answered or when I did hear from him, it seemed like
long frantic calls that didn’t really answer my questions.
Forward now - April 3, 2017 I called, left word for a call and update, Goldberg
returned call on April 5, 2017 saying we had a court date in Superior Court in
June of 2017. I believe he had earlier told me by phone-he had filed the necessary
documents in Superior Count but I was unable to get any additional facts and
information from Goldberg. I decided to call the clerk at the Superior Count and
found that the date was June 28 at 2 pm. (Docket: 16CV11).Sa
Then, Goldberg called me again in May and said he had a Deposition set for June
22, at 11am in Worchester. I objected to Worchester but he maintained his
position. His calls seemed to me to always be frantic and rather manic ramblings.
Lat this point was getting more than a bit concerned.
Fast Forward - on Wednesday, June14, 2017, Goldberg called me almost
screaming and saying, we had to go to Worchester tomorrow (Thursdays, June
15) for a Deposition. I had - as I told him - a doctor’s appointment to pick up'a
monitor and that I had to return it the next day (Friday, June16). This caused
extreme - extreme anger with Goldberg. I noted the date of June 22 had been set
for the Deposition and he said it was not convenient to the other party or the
other attorney and we had to go tomorrow. .That was final. He yelled that no time
was convenient over and over again. I said I had blocked out the original
appointment in my book and he continued screaming in total disjointed and
repeated sentences. It was - without doubt - words from a disturbed and nervous
individual. At the end, he spoke or rather screamed in repeated jumbled words
and then abruptly hung up the phone.
I believe and hope I have present a brief and correct outline of the events and
encounters with Goldberg. They are not details accounts but I believe I have given
a fair accounting and I invite you to call me if you have other questions or need
any filling in on any part of the time line.
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely, ( paneled
