Case Number: 18-CIV-01696 SUPERIOR COURT OF SAN MATEO COUNTY 400 County Center 1050 Mission Road Redwood City, CA 94063 South San Francisco, CA 94080 www.sanmateocourt.org Minute Order BRICEIDA LOPEZ, et al vs. PAUL BONIFACIO, et al 18-CIV-01696 01/24/2020 9:00 AM Motion to Compel Hearing Result: Held Judicial Officer: Fineman, Nancy L. Location: Courtroom 8B Courtroom Clerk: Ashmika Segran-Teo Courtroom Reporter: Valerie Cathey Minutes Journals - Matter is called at: 9:03 am. No appearance by any parties herein or their counsel of record. Case Events - Tentative ruling adopted and becomes order: PLAINTIFFS' MOTION TO COMPEL THE DEPOSITION OF JERRY SHERIDAN Plaintiffs' motion to compel the deposition of Jerry Sheridan is GRANTED. Mr. Sheridan shall submit to deposition within 14 days of notice of this order. Defendants' motion to quash the deposition subpoena issued to Mr. Sheridan is DENIED. Defendants' request to stay the deposition pending adjudication of Defendants' motion for summary judgment is also DENIED. Based upon the Declaration of Spencer J. Pahlke filed on January 21, 2019, the parties have agreed that the deposition of Mr. Sheridan will go forward. They disagree on its length and scope. The Court orders that the deposition shall be limited to two hours. The Court does not have sufficient briefing on the question of whether to limit the scope of the deposition and, as a result, the Court declines to impose limits on the topics that may be addressed. If the tentative ruling is uncontested, it shall become the order of the Court. Thereafter, counsel for Plaintiffs shall prepare a written order consistent with the Court's ruling for the Court's signature, pursuant to California Rules of Court, Rule 3.1312, and provide written notice of the ruling to all parties who have appeared in the action, as required by law and the California Rules of Court.
