APPLICATION FOR WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS SEEKING BOND REDUCTION
TO THE HONORABLE JUDGE OF SAID COURT:
Now comes ISRAEL ESTRADA, SO: #393631, DOB: 06/06/1979 Defendant in the above
captioned cause, moves the Court to set a reasonable bond, and in support of this Motion would show the
following:
1. Defendant was arrested on 02/27/2024 and is presently confined in the Hidalgo County Jail
by virtue of the complaint filed in the above cause now pending without an assigned District Court charging
him with POCS ($7000), Third Degree Felony and POM, Class B Misd ($1000). The bond is set at $8000
As of the date of filing of this Motion, the case has not been indicted. Applicant is currently in custody.
2. Bond is presently set at a total of $8000.00
3. Defendant could make bond in the amount of $500.00, which amount is reasonable to
secure Defendant's presence in court.
4. Defendant has been held under bond of $8000.00 since the date of her arrest. Unless bond
is set in a reasonable amount, she will be forced to remain in jail pending disposition of his case. The State
has not been ready for trial during this period.
WHEREFORE, PREMISES CONSIDERED, Defendant prays that the bond be reduced to
$500.00, or some other amount that the Court determines is reasonable, and that Defendant be released
from custody upon satisfaction of said bond.
