The Court's ruling with the omitted footnotes is as follows:
RULING
After full consideration of the briefing and supporting declarations filed, including careful
review of attorney documentation of hours expended, as well as oral argument at the hearing,
Plaintiff Anahit Shirvanyan’s Motion for Attorneys’ Fees is GRANTED IN PART, as detailed
below. The Court reduces the amount requested by Plaintiff and awards a total amount of
$503,273.50 for reasonable attorneys’ fees.
Counsel for Plaintiff to give notice.
BACKGROUND
Plaintiff Anahit Shirvanyan (“Plaintiff”) commenced this employment/FEHA action on
September 8, 2016, against her former employer Defendant Los Angeles Community College
District (“Defendant”). The Complaint alleged three causes of action for 1) disability
discrimination; 2) failure to engage in interactive process; and 3) failure to provide reasonable
accommodation. On December 3, 2018, the case was brought to jury trial. On December 18,
2018, the jury rendered a $2,899,670.00 verdict for plaintiff on the second and third causes of
action.
