24 argued on behalf of Plaintiff Ridge. Deputy Attorney General James Curran appeared and argued
25 on behalf of Defendant California Highway Patrol (CHP).
26 Having reviewed all pleadings and papers filed in support of the motion by Plaintiff Ridge,
and filed in opposition to the motion by CHP, and having heard the arguments of counsel:

1 IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT Plaintiff Ridge's motion is denied.
2 IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT Plaintiffs request for monetary sanctions is denied,
3 and that CHP shall be awarded monetary sanctions against Attorney John Briscoe and against
4 Mayall, Hurley, P.C, jointly and severally, in the amount of One Thousand, Five Hundred Forth
5 Dollars and No Cents ($1,540.00), pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure section 2023.010,
6 subdivisions (a), (b), (c) and (h), and section 2025.480, subdivision Q).
