Cal. Custom Construction & Design Inc. a California corporation DEFENDANT(S): Wendy O. Block et al CASE NUMBER: NOTICE OF CONTINUANCE DUE TO COVID-19 STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATIONS 19SMCV01263 Based on current conditions, including, but not limited to, the spread of Covid-19, the need for social distancing, and the states of emergency having been declared by Governor Gavin Newsom and President Donald Trump, the General Orders issued by the Presiding Judge and Statewide Orders issued by the Chief Justice, the court finds good cause to continue this matter. The parties are encouraged to appear via Court Call, rather than in person, due to social distancing protocols, for the foreseeable future. Video Court Call may be available in the future. The court is not inclined to grant ex parte relief to advance hearing dates, absent extraordinary good cause. The court is mindful of the significant backlog of cases due to the Court closure and seeks the parties’ patience in scheduling hearing dates. However, the Court will endeavor to post tentative rulings as soon as possible. The parties may stipulate to the tentative ruling and submit a Stipulation and Order for the Court’s signature. This will obviate the need for a hearing. Once all parties’ papers (motion, opposition, and reply) are filed, the Court will endeavor to review the matter and issue a tentative ruling. Thus, parties are encouraged to submit all papers as soon as possible, including prior to statutory deadlines.
