SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA, COUNTY OF SACRAMENTO GORDON D SCHABER COURTHOUSE MINUTE ORDER DATE: 05/24/2021 TIME: 09:00:00 AM DEPT: 40 JUDICIAL OFFICER PRESIDING: Richard K. Sueyoshi CLERK: D. Johnson-Mellado REPORTER/ERM: BAILIFF/COURT ATTENDANT: CASE NO: 34-2019-00252121-CU-WT-GDS CASE INIT.DATE: 03/08/2019 CASE TITLE: Zaman vs. Liqui-Box Corporation CASE CATEGORY: Civil - Unlimited APPEARANCES Nature of Proceedings: Re-Referral to Trial Setting Process for Selection of Mandatory Settlement Conference and Trial Dates The Court issues this order in follow up to the Presiding Judge's March 17, 2020 Order re: Implementation of Emergency Relief (March 17th 2020 Order). In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Presiding Judge's March 17th 2020 Order, among other things, delayed the setting of Mandatory Settlement Conference (MSC) and trial dates for this case until further notice. The Court now re-refers this case to the COVID-19 Trial Setting Process (TSP) for selection of MSC and trial dates. Upon receipt of this order, all counsel (including parties appearing in pro per) shall review and follow the instructions on the "COVID-19 Trial Setting Process" webpage at http://www.saccourt.ca.gov/civil/trial-setting.aspx. The COVID-19 TSP webpage indicates the dates available for selection for MSC and trial. Plaintiff's counsel is primarily responsible for notifying the Court of the parties' agreed upon potential dates for MSC and trial no later than 60 calendar days after 5/24/2021, by completing and submitting the online request form on the Court's TSP webpage. If the Court has not received the parties' submitted dates by the 60th day, the Court shall assign MSC and trial dates, unless an extension of time has been requested and granted. The Court advises the parties that the Court's re-referral of cases to the TSP program for selection of MSC and trial dates is based upon current projections regarding the Court's anticipated ability and capacity to hold civil trials at the Gordon D. Schaber Courthouse by the time of the dates available through the COVID-19 TSP webpage. The Court will continue to evaluate the environmental conditions and required health and safety measures regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and case backlogs and related impacts on Court operations. The Court will advise if additional changes to future operations, including civil trials, become necessary. DATE: 05/24/2021 MINUTE ORDER Page 1 DEPT: 40 Calendar No.
