AUTOMOBILE REPAIR:
Plaintiff recalls performing brake jobs, clutch jobs and engine gasket work on various
personal vehicles, When performing brake jobs, plaintiff used the same routine on each
occasion. Plaintiff recalls removing old drum brakes, cleaning the brake assemblies and drums
with a brush, a rag and his own breath and installing new drum brakes. Plaintiff recalls scraping
and chipping old bumed out gaskets off of mufflers as well as head gaskets. Plaintiff recalls
purchasing asbestos containing replacement parts including brakes manufactured by BENDIX
(HONEY WELL INTERNATIONAL, INC.) and RAYBESTOS (RAYMARK INDUSTRIES,
INC.), clutches manufactured by BORG-WARNER CORPORATION and gaskets
manufactured by VICTOR (DANA COMPANIES, LLC (FKA DANA CORPORATION)) from
KRAGEN AUTO PARTS stores in Fairfield, California, Vacaville, California, and Concord,
California; PEP BOYS, Fairfield, Califomia; MONUMENT AUTO PARTS, Concord,
California, in the 1970s and 1980s; NAPA AUTO PARTS, Fairfield, California and VACA
VALLEY AUTO, Fairfield, California, in the 1970s and 1980s. Plaintiff performed repair work
on the following vehicles:
1951 Dodge sedan: Plaintiff performed one brake job on all four brakes of this vehicle in
approximately 1960,
1941 Plymouth coupe: Plaintiff performed one brake job on all four brakes of this vehicle in
approximately 1961.
1934 Plymouth sedan: Plaintiff performed one brake job on all four brakes of this vehicle and a
complete engine overhaul including gasket work in approximately 1963.

performed one brake job on all four brakes of this vehicle in approximately the mid 1980s.

1968 Ford 3/4 ton picku belonging to plaintiff's father: Plaintiff performed one brake job on
all four brakes of this vehicle and performed clutch work in approximately the 1970s.
Plaintiff's exposure to asbestos and asbestos-containing products caused severe and
permanent injury to the plaintiff, including, but not limited to breathing difficulties, asbestosis,
and/or other lung damage, and increased risk and fear of developing mesothelioma, lung cancer
and various other cancers. Plaintiff was diagnosed with asbestosis on or about September 2007,
and with asbestos-related pleural disease on or about February 2008.
