Defendants.
Plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA, for his claims and causes of action against defendants
DAMODAR CHANDRADAS, AMARA IRIZARRY, and DOES ONE through SIXTY, and each
of them, states and alleges as follows.
1. The true names or capacities, whether individual, corporate, governmental or
associate, of the defendants named herein as DOE are unknown to Plaintiff who therefore sues
said defendants by such fictitious names. Plaintiff prays leave to amend this Complaint to show
their true names and capacities when the same have been finally determined. Plaintiff is informed
and believes, and upon such information and belief alleges, that each of the defendants designated
herein as DOE is negligently, strictly or otherwise legally responsible in some manner for the

events and happenings herein referred to, and negligently or otherwise caused injury and damages
proximately thereby to plaintiff, as is hereinafter alleged.
2. At all times herein relevant, defendants DAMODAR CHANDRADAS, AMARA
IRIZARRY, and DOES FORTY ONE through FIFTY, and each of them, owned, operated,
maintained, serviced, entrusted, controlled, drove, and/or maneuvered a 1997 Jaguar XJR bearing
California license Plate Number SPSF883 (hereinafter referred to as “THE JAGUAR”).
3. The Court has personal jurisdiction over defendants DAMODAR CHANDRADAS,
AMARA IRIZARRY, and DOES FORTY ONE through FIFTY, and each of them, because they
are residents of California.
4. Venue is proper in San Francisco County Superior Court pursuant to Section 395(a)
of the California Code of Civil Procedure, as defendant DAMODAR CHANDRADAS is a
resident of San Francisco County.
5. On October 29, 2013, plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA was lawfully driving a 1994
Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on State Route 121, a state maintained highway in the
unincorporated area of Sonoma County, California, when it was involved in a collision with a
vehicle being owned, operated, maintained, serviced, entrusted, controlled, drove, and/or
maneuvered by defendants DAMODAR CHANDRADAS, AMARA IRIZARRY, and DOES
FORTY ONE through FIFTY, and each of them.
6. On or about October 29th, 2013, defendants DAMODAR CHANDRAS, AMARA
IRIZARRY, and DOES FORTY ONE through FIFTY, and each of them, so carelessly and
negligently owned, operated, maintained, serviced, entrusted, controlled, drove, and/or
maneuvered THE JAGUAR thereby causing it to collide with plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA’s
vehicle.
7. When the Toyota Corolla that plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA was lawfully driving
collided with defendants’ DAMODAR CHANDRADAS, AMARA IRIZARRY, and DOES
FORTY ONE through FIFTY, and each of their, vehicle, GUSTAVO A. MEJIA sustained
multiple severe injuries, including but not limited, multiple contusions and lacerations through his

body and significant fractures to his legs, both feet, and right rib, resulting in four surgeries and a
lengthy hospital stay.
8. As a result of his physical injuries, Plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA has incurred
expenses for medical care and treatment and related costs and expenses required in the care and
treatment of said injuries.
9. As a result of witnessing his daughter Jazzlin Mejia sustain severe injuries, Plaintiff
GUSTAVO A. MEJIA sustained injury in the form of pain, suffering, fear, anxiety, worry,
depression, mental and emotional distress and other compensable elements of economic and non-
economic loss.
10. Asa result of his injuries, Plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA has suffered wage loss
and loss of earning capacity in a presently undetermined amount.
11. Asa result of his injuries, Plaintiff GUSTAVO A. MEJIA has been generally
damaged in a sum in excess of the jurisdictional minimum of this court.
PRAYER FOR RELIEF
WHEREFORE, Plaintiff prays for judgment against defendants DAMODAR
CHANDRADAS, AMARA IRIZARRY and DOES ONE through SIXTY, and each of them, as to
all causes of action pleaded and requests of the Court the following relief:
A. For compensatory and general damages, in an amount to be proven at trial;
B. For special and economic damages according to proof, in an amount to be proven at
trial;
For costs of suits incurred herein,
D. For pre-judgment and post-judgment interest as provided by law;
For such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper.
