Overview
This matter is brought by the Plaintiff, who is the administrator of the estate of the
decedent, and by the minor child of the decedent, through his parent, said administrator, against
the Defendants, arising from the death of the decedent, and from the suffering of the decedent
prior to his death.

Plaintiffs also allege that, in the course of killing the decedent, the Defendants deprived
decedent’s child in such a matter so as to be answerable to the minor Plaintiff pursuant to the
wrongful death statute.
In addition, Plaintiffs claim that in causing the death of the decedent, the Defendants
violated the decedent’s civil rights under the New Jersey Civil Rights Act.
Identification of Parties
Plaintiff Kathleen Burgo, Administratrix ad Prosequedum of The Estate of
Charles Sharp III is, a resident of Gloucester County, and is the parent of minor Plaintiff J.S.
Minor Plaintiff J.S. is a resident of Gloucester County and is the child of decedent
Charles Sharp III and Kathleen Burgo.
Decedent Charles Sharp III resided in Gloucester County, Mantua Township, and
was legally possessed of all rights which are herein referenced at the time of his interaction with
the Defendants, which lead to his death.
Defendant Mantua Township is, at all relevant times herein, a municipal
corporation of the State of New Jersey and maintains a business address at 401 Main Street,
Mantua Township, New Jersey 08051.
Defendant Mantua Township Police Department is a municipal entity organized
under the laws of the State of New Jersey and maintains a principle place of business address at
401 Main Street, Mantua Township, New Jersey 08051.
The Police Department is, at all relevant times herein, the employer of individual
Defendant Salvatore Oldrati.
