Ohio Administrative Code|Rule 4709-5-01 | Reciprocity.

                                                

Applications for an Ohio license to practice as a
barber from an individual holding a valid license or registration to practice
as a barber in another state, district, or country shall be processed in
accordance with the provisions of this rule.

(A) An individual seeking reciprocity, as
provided for in section 4709.08 of the Revised Code, shall submit an
application, on forms developed by the board, along with the required
application fee(s), certified proof of holding an active, equivalent license or
registration issued by their state, district, or country of origin, and
certified proof of their barber training.

(B) The board may grant licensure,
without examination, to an applicant who meets the following
criteria:

(1) Is at least eighteen
years of age;

(2) Is of good moral
character;

(3) Has completed not
less than one thousand eight hundred hours of training from a licensed school
of barbering. For purposes of this provision, a year of licensed experience may
be substituted for one hundred hours of training, up to a maximum of five
hundred hours in total; and

(4) The licensing
jurisdiction of the applicant extends similar reciprocity opportunities to
individuals licensed in Ohio.

(C) The board may, in its discretion,
require an applicant to pass an examination prior to granting
licensure.

(D) The board may, in its discretion,
waive any of the requirements of this rule.
