On May 18, 2016, Petitioner Patricia Welcome (“Petitioner”) filed a petition for writ of mandate pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure (“CCP”) section 1094.5 seeking an order setting aside the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles’s (“HACLA”) February 18, 2016 decision terminating her Section 8 rent subsidy. On April 26, 2017, the Court held a hearing, granted the petition, and ordered Respondents to set aside the Hearing Officer’s February 18, 2016 Decision. On May 15, 2017, the Court issued its judgment ordering Respondents to (1) vacate the Hearing Officer’s February 18, 2016 decision; (2) reinstate Petitioner to the Track Judge's New Cases
