[TENTATIVE] ORDER DENYING EXPEDITED PETITION TO APPROVE MINOR’S COMPROMISE WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Plaintiffs, Stephen Keys, et al. filed this action against Defendants, Avis Budget Group and Teng Haung for damages arising out of an automobile accident. Myles Keys is a minor and is appearing in the action by and through his GAL, Stephen Keys.
At this time, Myles, by and through his GAL and attorney of record, has agreed to settle all claims with Defendant, Haung for the total amount of $17,500. Plaintiff was evaluated at the emergency room after the accident, but suffered no serious injuries and has recovered fully at this time. If the settlement is approved, $5250 will be paid for attorneys’ fees; no amounts are being taken out for medical expenses or costs of suit.
The Court has reviewed the settlement and finds it is fair and reasonable. The expedited petition is denied without prejudice, however, for the following reasons:
