This action is for age discrimination and related claims. According to the allegations, plaintiff worked in defendant’s human resources department (HR) for 27 years, until July 16, 2013, when she was age 56. Throughout her employment, plaintiff’s performance was exemplary, she received very good performance evaluations, and was never disciplined. When defendant hired its new HR executive director Jose Garcia, numerous employees over age 40 were terminated or forced to resign, and younger, less qualified and experienced employees were hired to replace them. Plaintiff was directed to recruit new employees under age 34. Plaintiff told her supervisor Delgado that the directive was illegal and that she refused to comply with it.
