Petitioners Council on American-Islamic Relations, Vigilant Love Coalition, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Los Angeles, and American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Southern California petition the court for a writ of mandate directing Respondents Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Public Safety (“MOPS”), Los Angeles Human Relations Commission (“HRC”), and the Los Angeles Police Department (“LAPD”) (collectively, “City”)[1] to conduct searches for Petitioners’ specified search terms and to produce all documents responsive to Petitioners’ California Public Records Act (“CPRA”) request.
