FACTUAL BACKGROUND

This is a disability and age discrimination case. Richard Panek (“Panek”) started his employment with the City of Long Beach (the “City”) as a Combination Building Inspector in August 2005. (Panek’s Separate Statement of Undisputed Facts (“PUMF”) No. 1.) When Panek started his employment with the City of Long Beach he was 52 years of age. (PUMF No. 2.)
