Plaintiff Joseph Thompson, individually and as trustee of the Eula M. Smith Trust, alleges Defendants Al Jones, Tanya Richardson, and Leotis Coleman fraudulently induced him to sell the property at 1237 W. 120th Street, Los Angeles, California, to Defendant Richardson. Plaintiff inherited the property after his sister, Eula Smith, passed away. It was encumbered by a reverse mortgage and Defendant Jones, a pastor at Smith’s church, advised Plaintiff to sell the property to Jones’s girlfriend, Defendant Richardson. Defendant Jones allegedly continually assured Plaintiff that he would receive $30,000–$60,000 from the sale, but he only received $18,100 from Defendants Jones or Richardson.
