Pierce Evernden, a minor, alleges that he suffered severe head injuries as a result of helmet to helmet contact during a high school football practice session. The complaint names Mission Prep High School, the Diocese of Monterey, and football team coaches as Defendants. On August 27, 2013, Pierce Evernden participated in a drill with teammate Jake Corgiat where Plaintiff claims Corgiat initiated illegal helmet to helmet contact. Despite witnessing this prohibited conduct, Coach Friedman supposedly congratulated Corgiat on his drill performance and had the players repeat it.
