Biography

The Hon. Yves P. Laventure is a general magistrate for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Broward County. He was appointed to the bench in 2016.

Laventure has held an assignment in the Probate and Guardianship Division.

He received a bachelor's degree from Florida International University. Laventure went on to complete a J.D. at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School, in 2003.

After graduating from law school, he began his legal career as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit. Prior to his appointment, Laventure was assigned to the Homicide Division.

His memberships include the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network.
