Biography

The Hon. Yolanda C. Parker-Smith is a judge for the DeKalb County Superior Court in Georgia. She was elected to the bench on August 11, 2020, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Clarence Seeliger.

Prior to her election, Parker-Smith was a senior attorney with the DeKalb County Public Defender's Office. Before that, she spent time as an assistant district attorney with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in Boston and the Fulton County District Attorney's Office in Atlanta.

Parker-Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Florida. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law.

Her memberships have included the Gate City Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Georgia Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Council of Negro Women, and the DeKalb NAACP. She has also been involved with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Jack and Jill of America, and the Columbia Drive United Methodist Church.
