The Hon. William J. Pendergast III is a judge for the Solano County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2016. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David E. Power (Ret.).
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Pendergast received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Pendergast had served as a court commissioner for the Solano County Superior Court since 2011. Before joining the court, he worked for one year as a deputy conflict defender for the Solano County Conflict Defender's Office.
Before entering the public sector, Pendergast had worked for several years in private practice. During that time, Pendergast worked as a sole practitioner for two years after partnering at Pendergast and Camarata from 2006 to 2008 and at Pendergast and Maher from 2002 to 2006. He also worked as an associate at Kilpatrick and Daniels from 1997 to 2002.
