Biography

The Hon. William Anklowitz is a judge for the Mercer County Superior Court (Vicinage 7) in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jon Corzine on March 17, 2009.

Anklowitz has held assignments in the Family Division (2009 to 2014) and the Civil Division (2014 to present) of the Mercer County Superior Court.

Prior to his appointment, Anklowitz was a public defender in the Mercer County Public Defender’s Office. He defended clients accused of everything from arson and robbery to sex assaults and gang murders. Before that, he was a sole practitioner in his own private practice.

Anklowitz earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of New Jersey in 1991. He then completed a J.D. at Widener University Delaware Law School in 1994. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1994), Pennsylvania (1994), and Florida (1995).

His memberships have included the West Windsor Township Council.

Anklowitz, whose family has lived in West Windsor since the 1930s, is the son of a liquor-store owner. He and his wife, Madeline, have two sons.
