The Hon. Warren P. Johnson is a magistrate for the Jasper County Magistrate Court in South Carolina.
The magistrate court presides over landlord/tenant hearings, summons and complaint cases (to claim disputed funds), claim and delivery cases (to reclaim property), and public sales of abandoned vehicles. Its magistrates also hear criminal and traffic cases, issue warrants and set bonds, and hold preliminary hearings and transfer cases for the county.
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in 2000. He then completed a J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2003. He is licensed to practice in South Carolina (2003) and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina (2005).
After graduating from law school, Johnson entered into private practice, specializing in personal injury and workers compensation matters alongside his father. In that capacity, he represented the injured workers from the Savannah River Site, helping them obtain benefits under the South Carolina Workers Compensation Act. Johnson has also served as the Town Attorney for the Town of Ridgeland.
His memberships have included the American Association of Justice, the Attorneys Information Exchange Group, and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. He has also been involved with the Jasper County Board of Elections and Voter Registration and the Jasper County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, and he is a former member of the Board of Governors for the Coastal Carolina Hospital.
Johnson was born and raised in Hardeeville, South Carolina. He and his wife, Kristen, have twin daughters. Johnson is fluent in both English and Spanish.
