The Hon. Timothy F. Johnson (Ret.) served as a judge for the Bexar County Court at Law No. 5 in Texas. Johnson was elected to the bench in 1986. He retired on June 30, 2011 and continued to serve as a visiting judge throughout the State of Texas.
Over the course of his judicial career, Johnson was appointed Director of Judicial Support Services in Bexar County in 2009. In that capacity, he acted as the chief ambassador for the Bexar County Commissioners Court.
Johnson earned a B.S. in political science from Illinois State University in 1972. He spent the next three years working as a manager at Browns Sporting Goods, Diesel Repairman, and Caterpillar Tractor Co. Then, in 1978, he completed a J.D. at St. Mary's University School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Johnson began his legal career as an assistant criminal district attorney in the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. Two years later, he entered into the private sector, working as general counsel for Newell Recycling Co. He held that position until his election to the bench.
