The Hon. Thomas L. Finigan is First Justice of the Wrentham District Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Deval Patrick in 2013.
Finigan earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Boston College in 1982. He then completed a J.D. at Boston College Law School in 1985. While in law school, Finigan worked as a legal clerk for the Bank of Boston, researching and reporting commercial lending compliance issues.
After graduating from law school, Finigan entered into private practice. He started as an associate at Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, representing clients during initial public offerings, asset acquisitions and venture capital financing. Then, in 1991, he became an investment attorney for The New England.
Finigan joined the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office in 1997. He started as an assistant district attorney, holding assignments in the Economics Crime Unit and the Homicide Unit before becoming Chief of the Narcotics Unit.
His memberships have included the Boston Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also sat on the Board of Directors of Milton Youth Hockey, Caritas Communities, and Milton Village School.
Finigan was born in Lynn, Massachusetts.
