Biography

The Hon. Susan E. Harness is a commissioner for the Snohomish County Superior Court in Washington.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Harness worked as an attorney in private practice, specializing in family law, estate planning, and probate matters. She also spent time as a Title 26 and Title 13 Guardian ad Litem as well as an attorney for the Office of Public Defense, where she represented parents involved in CPS cases.

Harness earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Oregon State University. She also completed a paralegal certification at Edmonds Community College and graduated from the Washington State Bar Association Rule 6 Law Clerk Program.

Her memberships have included the Table of Ten, which works to improve the juvenile court system, and the Serving Our Seniors Will Clinic.
