Biography

Stephen L. Huffaker (Ret.) was a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Robert List in 1980 and retired from his seat in 2002. After retiring, Huffaker began serving as a senior judge of the Court.


He received a B.S. from Utah State University in 1956. He went on to earn a J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1974.


Prior to his appointment to the bench, Huffaker had served as an assistant public defender with the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.


After his retirement, he served as of counsel with the Law Offices of Brian C. Padgett, where he specialized in eminent domain issues.
