Biography

The Hon. Stephanie A. Domitrovich is a judge for the Erie County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected to the bench on November 7, 1989.

Domitrovich has held assignments in the Family Division and the Trial Court Division.

Prior to her election, Domitrovich was an assistant county solicitor for the Office of the Erie County Solicitor.

Domitrovich earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Carlow College in 1976. She then completed a J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law in 1979. Several years later, Domitrovich continued her studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received a master’s degree (1993) and a Ph.D. (2006) in judicial studies.

Her memberships have included the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Erie County Bar Association. She has also been involved with the National Conference of State Trial Judges (chair), the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges (president), and the Northwestern Pennsylvania American Inns of Court (president) as well as the National Association of Women Judges, the American Judges Association, and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

She has served as a faculty member for the National Judicial College, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and Gannon University. In 1996, she helped the United States Agency for International Development educate judges in the former Soviet Republic nations of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Domitrovich was born and raised in Rochester, Pennsylvania.
