Judge Sandra K. McSorley - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Sandra K. McSorley (Ret.) was a judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Palm Beach County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2000. McSorley retired in 2015.

Prior to her appointment, she was a judge for the Palm Beach County Court since 1990. Before that, she spent time as an attorney in private practice (1988 to 1990) and an assistant United States attorney with the Office of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida (1986 to 1988).

McSorley received a B.A. from Wayne State University in 1969. She then completed a J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 1972.

After graduating from law school, McSorley began her legal career as an assistant prosecutor with the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office in Oakland County, Michigan. Then, in 1975, after relocating to Florida, she joined the Office of the State Attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, where she served as an assistant state attorney for eleven years.
