Biography

Hon. Ross C. Sanchez (Ret.) was a judge for the 2nd Judicial District Court of New Mexico in Bernalillo County. He was appointed to the bench in August 1985. Sanchez retired in 2014.


While on the District Court, he held an assignment in the Criminal Division. Sanchez began his judicial career as a judge for the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court in 1983 and remained in that capacity until joining the 2nd Judicial District Court.


He received a B.A. and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. Sanchez went on to complete a J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1973.


He held a membership with the Hispanic Bar Association and the Albuquerque Bar Association.
