The Hon. Ross A. Stoffer is a judge for the Madison County Court in the 7th Judicial District of Nebraska. He joined the bench in 2006.
During his judicial tenure, Stoffer has presided over the Northeast Nebraska Juvenile Drug Court in Madison County. Prior to joining the bench, he was in private practice in Norfolk since 1979.
Stoffer earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1976. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1979. While a law student, Stoffer completed a clerkship at the Lincoln City Attorney's Office (1976 to 1979).
His memberships include the Nebraska State Bar Association, the Seventh Judicial District Bar Association, the Nebraska County Judges Association, and the Madison County Bar Association. Stoffer has also been involved with the Nebraska Supreme Court’s Through the Eyes of the Child Initiative and Minority Justice Committee.
From a civic standpoint, he is a past president of the Norfolk Sertoma and past vice president of the Norfolk Jaycees.
Stoffer also taught Business Law as an adjunct faculty member at Northeast Community College.
