Hon. Robert D. Alexander is a judge for the Jackson County State Court in Georgia. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Nathan Deal in March 2011, filling the vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Jerry Clinton Gray (deceased).
Prior to joining the bench, Alexander was a partner in the law firm of Davidson, Hopkins & Alexander, P.C.
He had also presided as a municipal judge for the City of Jefferson since 2003.
He received a B.A. in English and history from Presbyterian College in 1996. Alexander went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law in 1999.
He has held memberships with the Piedmont Bar Association and the General Trial Lawyers Association.
Alexander also sat as an appointed member of the Georgia Circuit Public Defenders Supervisory Council, having received a reappointment by then-Governor Nathan Deal in 2017.
At the time of his appointment to the State Court, he resided in Jefferson, Georgia, with his wife, Lori, and their two children.
