Judge Robert C. Wilson - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Robert C. Wilson is a judge for the Vicinage 2 Superior Court in Bergen County in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench in 1999 and reappointed in 2006.

During his judicial tenure, Wilson initially held an assignment in the Family Division before moving to the Civil Division in 2003.

He received an A.B. from Lafayette College in 1976. Wilson went on to complete a J.D. at New York Law School in 1982. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Prior to his appointment, he was a municipal prosecutor in the Borough of Ramsey (1992 to 1999).

Over the course of his legal career, Wilson was also vice president and general counsel at Wells Fargo (1992 to 1997), an assistant prosecutor with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office (1987 to 1992), and counsel at Pinkerton Corp. (1982 to 1987).
