The Hon. Ralph A. Fabrizio is an acting justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court in the 12th Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to the seat by Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman.
The 12th Judicial District includes Bronx County. Fabrizio began his judicial career as a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York, following his appointment by former Mayor Rudy Guiliani in 2001. He was subsequently reappointed to the post by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2008 and Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2018.
Fabrizio received a B.S. from Fairfield University (1978) and an M.S. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (1981). He then completed a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law in 1984. While a law student, Fabrizio served as a law clerk at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett (1981 to 1984).
He joined the New York County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney in 1984. Fabrizio, who remained with the office until his appointment to the bench, went on to serve as deputy chief of the Trial Bureau.
He also taught legal writing as an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
On July 13, 2012 a mat-contested case was filed in the jurisdiction of Bronx County. Judge Ralph Fabrizio presiding.
