Biography

Hon. Peter M. Bassaline is a general magistrate for the 15th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Palm Beach County. He was appointed to the bench in 2007.

During his judicial tenure, Bassaline has held assignments in the Family and Mental Health Divisions.

He received a B.S. from the University of Florida in 1989. Bassaline then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1992.

After graduating from law school, he entered private practice, where he remained until 2000. It was at that time, Bassaline joined the Florida Office of the Attorney General, where he served as an assistant attorney general until his appointment to the bench in 2007. During his tenure there, he worked as a managing attorney assigned to the Child Support Enforcement Section (2000 to 2004) and the Economic Crimes Division (2004 to 2007).
